Ever since I started my diet the only meat I have been eating is wild caught, mostly Alaskan Salmon and some whiting fish from sustainable sources. Many people have asked me why I do this, and I tell them it’s because of all the junk that is found in almost all other meat sources. My biggest concerns are antibiotics, growth hormones, and pesticides, but there are plenty of other things to worry about when it comes to Big Money’s control over the farm/livestock industry where profit is more important that health and safety.
Normally when I hear about these controversies from only one or two fringe sources, I ignore them. But, when it continues to come up time and time again with actual scientific studies and reports you can read for yourself, it gets harder to ignore the issue. Much like global warming, the chemicals in our foods are a growing concern that even the most staunch of skeptics can’t really ignore anymore if they know what’s good for them.
