Day 29

Carbs are an important, and normally feared, part of most diets. A healthy dieter knows that carbohydrates cannot be cut out in order to lose weight. In the end that mindset ends up causing more problems than it solves, and is one of the main reasons many diets fail. One of the issues is that a lot of people don’t know the difference between the different types of carbohydrates.

Knowing how each type of carb affects your system is very important. You would be surprised at how many health foods give you a good dose of body-friendly carbohydrates! For example I traded processed white bread for homemade whole wheat bread, gave up white pasta for broccoli as well as adding more beans and wild rice to my intake, and gave up cereal for whole oats. I still get plenty of carbs in my diet and don’t end up craving them like a fiend at the end of the day. The best part is that as long as I exercise I also continue to lose weight safely!
